The Tree of Light is an event practiced annually by hospices all over the world to symbolise a shining beacon of love and remembrance. South Coast Hospice held it’s first tree of light event in 2007, and this year it will take place again in the Southcoast Mall on 7 December, from 6.30 pm. The public are invited to bring folding chairs, picnic baskets, family and friends to enjoy the quality time with those who are nearest and dearest to them. The switch on of the tree will happen at 8 pm.
Members of the public are invited to donate R30 or more in memory of someone they have loved….it will be a donation towards a light on the tree. Pledge tables are already in place at the Southcoast Mall, and will be there until the day that the Tree of Light is switched on. If you want to pledge, and are unable to get to the mall, you can visit www.schospice.co.za for a pledge form, pop in at 29 Connor Street for a pledge form, or phone Bt King on 039-682-3031 to obtain banking details to make your donation.
