STATEMENT FROM PORT SHEPSTONE SAPS:
This morning at 09:00 WO Patrick Gosling from Port Shepstone POP, arrested a 50 year old man from Gamalakhe who was en route from the Eastern Cape to the South Coast Area. WO Gosling stopped the taxi in the Margate area after being tipped off and arrested Maxwell Cele with a plastic bag on his lap. Inside were 46 small packets containing dagga. He was charged at Margate SAPS for possession of dagga and paid admission of guilt of R1000-00.
Last week WO Gosling and his team arrested two people in Paddock for Common Robbery (will appear in Ramsgate court today) and two more for Possession of dagga – total 7 grams. They paid a fine each.
They also arrested two people in Louisiana for Possession of dagga – total 14 grams and a man (25) in Mkhlombe for Possession of an unlicensed fire-arm, a magazine and a live round. They will appear in Port Shepstone court today for Possession of unlicensed fire arm and possession of dagga respectively.
