Two alleged fraudsters were arrested for bank fraud on Wednesday in Port Shepstone. The men tried to rob a 40-year-old woman at an ATM in Aiken Street in Port Shepstone.
Lieutenant Colonel Zandra Wiid said that the suspects were then taken to the police station where bank cards, cellphones and their white Toyota sedan were confiscated. “It is believed that they are also involved together with other fraudsters in several cases from Margate to Scottburgh,” Lt Col Wiid added.
A fraud case has been opened and they will appear in Port Shepstone Court soon. The two suspects were arrested in town by investigators who are part of a task team investigating bank fraud.
