Big win, narrow loss for Southcity first XI

The Southcity first XI cruised to a commanding win over Creston last week.

Southcity batted first on the Creston pitch, making 225 for three in the 20 overs.

Ben Smell smashed 80, Gareth Pieterse made 35 not out and Jordan Hill 34.

Creston then went in to bat and were all out for 80. Jordan Hill took four for 14 as Southcity won by 144 runs.

The U15/second boys played a T20 against Treverton on Friday, with Southcity winning the game. On Saturday, the U15 team played a 50-over game, with Southcity losing.

The first team played Treverton on Saturday. Treverton batted first, scoring 118 all out with Jordan Hill taking three for 17.

Jakob de Villiers scored 50 for Southcity but it wasn’t enough, as Treverton came away with a one-run win.
