Go golfing in support of local tennis development at Southbroom Golf Club

Southbroom Tennis Club will be holding their golf day at Southbroom Golf Club on Friday, 24 May.

The club is focussed on tennis development for everyone. Resident coach Frank Hall provides an amazing service to all players, including encouraging seniors wishing to play again and introducing juniors to a sport that lasts a lifetime.

The Tennis Development Hub with Gcilima Primary School is also very active and fast identifying talented youngsters soon to compete in KZN Tennis Association tournaments.

The clubhouse and grounds have been beautifully renovated and membership has grown to 92. The club’s challenge now is to resurface the courts, illuminate them for night tennis and to replace the gabion walls that were washed away from the banks of the stream during the recent floods. Containing the stream is of major concern as it severely threatens the construction of the third court.

The club is a community amenity that adds value to locals and visitors to Southbroom and South Coasters are urged to come out in support of their fund-raising golf day.

The format is fourball alliance (two scores to count) and is open to men’s, women’s and mixed teams. The competition fee is R100 and the green fee is R200 per person and includes a snack and entertainment after the day’s golf. Super prizes and surprises will add to the day’s festivities.

To book your tee-off time, contact the Southbroom Golf Club pro shop on 039 316 6051 or email [email protected].

  1. Hello Editor,
How long do the “recent comments”stay on your note? I have made a few and they seem to stay on the paper a lot longer than one would think sufficiently.

Hi Brian…….their stay depends on how many come in to push them into the archives off the page. We get many comments on Facebook, but on our home page they come and go. Which do you want us to remove? Kind regards. Johan Pretorius.
