Kingfisher Bowling Association (KBA) sides scooped medals in the Bowling South Africa Inter-Districts Championships last week.
The open championships took place in Cape Town, where the Kingfisher ladies team enjoyed an excellent campaign which culminated in them coming home with bronze medals.
Meanwhile, bowls fever hit the South Coast with the B championships being contested at Scottburgh, The Bell, The Village and Riverside in Uvongo, the latter serving as the competition headquarters.
Buoyed by local support, the Kingfisher ladies team bagged bronze. KBA president Barbara Brook congratulated the medal-winning teams as well as the clubs for their superb hosting of the B championships.
“Two medals in one year is really a fantastic achievement for any district,” she said, adding, “The Executive and Inter-District B Tournament Committee would like to extend grateful thanks to Riverside, Scottburgh, The Bell and Village for their fantastic effort and hard work that made the tournament such a resounding success.”
The draws for the Men’s and Women’s Trips, due to start on Saturday, are also on the Kingfisher website.
