The KwaZulu-Natal ladies coastals hockey team on Thursday defeated Limpopo 2-0 at the South African Country Districts in Port Elizabeth.
Wednesday saw the coastal ladies, featuring three Port Shepstone Hockey Club players, take on Northern KwaZulu-Natal in a tough match that both sides were determined to win.
The Northern outfit started well and penetrated the coastals defence, scoring three goals.
The coastals managed to pull one goal back through Louisa Steenberg but it mattered little as Northern KwaZulu-Natal clinched a 3-1 win. Kristen Klusner was named Player of the Match.
The coastal ladies were charged up to win their game against Limpopo after the loss to their Northern rivals and dominated the match.
They showed some fantastic team work, cutting threw Limpopo’s defence and stretching the field.
Megan Campbell scored both goals, while fantastic individual skill saw Mari-Lee Visser take the Player of the Match honours.
