Saturday served as an ideal glimpse into the lives of NSRI Shelly Beach crew.
The Shelly Beach-based Station 20 held its annual open day to recruit new members and allow members of the public to visit and see what they do.
Before the open day started, however, four crew members responded to a call-out to Oslo Beach.
Back at the base, various crew members showed community members the equipment, gave a tour of the base and answered questions.
Deputy station commander Antoinette le Roux said it was another successful day.
“We had a good response with several people coming around. We are always very grateful for the support we receive,” she said.
