Saturday proved to be a beautiful day to support the South Coast Hospice Friend and Family Walk, held in memory of beloved Hospice volunteer, Helen Mostert.
It was a bright, warm, tranquil morning. Those who did the 5km walk on Hamel Farm in Izotsha thoroughly enjoyed it, and are keen for the next one.
There were some excited and very well behaved dogs on leashes as well.
The event was well supported by families who enjoyed the picnic spots, fishing facility and the car boot sale.
There were some great sales ranging from books to clothes, to briyani and wors rolls.
BT King, South Coast Hospice fund-raising co-ordinator, thanks Louis Wichman, and Ryan and Dayna Mostert for the use of their farm, and for preparing the trail.
A number of South Coast Hospice fundraisers are coming up, starting with Voices on Thursday.
On Saturday, the staff will be taking Dr Andre Nell “hostage”. The Hospice hero will be locked in “ball and chain” at Shelly Centre, where locals will have to bail him out through pledges and bail money.
Funds raised will go towards a new wheelchair for Dr Nell, who’s been a cornerstone of South Coast Hospice for decades.
