Southcity first XI in fine form

Southcity’s first cricket team have been in great form, winning four of their five matches so far this year.

In T20 action, Southcity beat Creston by nine wickets thanks to key contributions from Jordan Hill (3/10), Sibu Bubu (24*) and Jakob de Villiers (25*).

Kaden Jordan boasted figures of 3/16 to help Southcity to a three-wicket win over Suid-Natal, while the team suffered a narrow 14-run loss to Port Shepstone High despite the efforts of Hill (3/12) and Gareth Pieterse (22) in particular.

In the 50-over format, Southcity saw off Creston and St Henry’s.

The team beat Creston by six wickets after bowling them out for 124. Jordan (6/22) and De Villiers (40*) starred for Southcity.

The game against St Henry’s came down to the wire, with Southcity winning by just three runs.

Southcity’s standouts were Hill (3/12), T Truter (2/18 and 21), Pieterse (19) and D Jonker (18).
