Sports stars fly Creston flag high

Creston Grade 7s Kirsty Jackson and Salma Bejia have been selected for the Ugu District Under-13 girls cricket team who will participate in the KwaZulu-Natal trials this Saturday.

Salma and her brother, Nabil, in grade 4, have also flown the Creston flag high. Salma (pictured above) won a gold medal for KZN athletics, such a great achievement seeing the number of learners getting involved and the high standards of the KZN Schools Athletics Association.

This last week, Nabil scooped a silver medal in the 200m breaststroke and a bronze medal for the 100m breaststroke in the KwaZulu-Natal Level 2 Championship, which was held at Arena Park, Chatsworth.

He was crowed the KZN biathlon champion for 2019 for the nine-year-old boys age group and will represent the province in the SA Championships in Port Elizabeth at the end of March.

Nabil and Salma are also part of the Ugu swimming team along with many other Creston learners, namely Hannah Scott, Matthew Henderson, Luke Weeks, Elizabeth Ballack, Christopher Ballack, Luke Lawlor, Erin Heydricks, Ava-Mae Lilje, Ayesha Pillay, Gemma Allchin, Amy Voigts, Leah Scott and George Annandale.

Our Senior Primary and College Phase sports players are looking forward to participating in the Curro Regional Sport Tournament to be held at Curro Grantleigh this week.
