UPDATE ON WATER SUPPLY SERVICES LATE TUESDAY MORNING 14/11:
The Municipality has been succesful in restoring water supply in Ramsgate after fixing a break last night.
MARGATE AND NOSITHA:
Water supply has been restored in most areas of Margate. We have however found that our inlet valve to Nositha Reservior is faulty and is not letting adequate water into the reservior. This is causing slow recovery in the high lying areas of Margate and Nositha.
Our technicians will be commencing with repair work of the valve which necessitates that the reservior be emptied. A fill up process will be actioned straight after the repair process is completed.
Please note that due to this, the high lying areas of both Margate and Nositha will experience water shortages.
While we await the recovery process, relief supply will be provided through static tanks.
PHUMULA AND UMZUMBE:
Please be informed that we have three teams of plumbers that are focusing on finding the cuase of no water in Pumula and Umzumbe.
In the interim, we have placed static tanks in the following places:
1. Umzumbe Station Road – Full
2. Umzumbe Chalets – full
3. Pumula Supperette – full
Over and above this, we have a water truck doing rounds in these areas.
