Saturday morning Ugu update on Southbroom and Port Edward water supply

UPDATE FOR SOUTHBROOM TO PORT EDWARD SATURDAY MORNING::

Umtamvuna plant is now 99% full; a go ahead has been granted to open all southern reservoirs.
Within the next 2 hours, residents in these areas will begin to get water; possibly low pressure at first but will improve as the day progresses.
BP2 which is the main reservoir for Port Edward was at 47% @ 6am; when it reaches 50% water will begin to flow at good pressure.
The rest will surely get water as lines fill; with high lying streets the last to be fully restored.

Within the next 1-2 hours; water supply will begin to be restored; then slowly until everyone gets.

Regards.

COURTESY UPDATE FOR SOUTHBROOM TO PORT EDWARD LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON 12/1:

Umtamvuna system is back online; all electro mechanical work has been completed successfully.
Production is now back to normal; all southern reservoirs are rising gradually.
If people continue to reduce usage; the full recovery period may be shorter.
Otherwise it is estimated that by early morning all reservoirs would have reached acceptable levels and full water supply will then be restored.

Regards
Zimbini
