WATER SERVICES PROGRESS UPDATE:

BANNERS REST:
Please note the pumping issue to Banners Rest has resolved and reservoir level is building up.

LEISURE BAY:
Please be informed that scour valve leaks is now complete and the line is being opened.

AREA NORTH:
UMzinto system is now sorted, flow is getting into Nkonka Reservoir. It is estimated that it will take 3.5hrs to fully recover the system. But the Low lying areas will start getting water soon.

MORNING UPDATES:

AREA SOUTH:
Please be informed that our technicians have found a technical fault which resulted in the interruption of supply in Banners Rest. Pumping to this system will resume shortly.

We are also aware of the water supply interruptions in San Lameer. Out technicians are on the ground investigating the cause.

LAGOONS:
The Municipality urges the community and visitors not to use any lagoons for swimming but only for other recreational activities.

Although lagoons are within the recommended quality standards and are tested twice daily, it is advised that swimming be confined to the beaches.

AREA NORTH:
Please be informed that after the completion of the Court Road burst pipe repairs, technicians are further investigating the failure to reinstate supply in Umzinto, Hazelwood and Ghandinaghar areas. A closed valve is suspected and technicians are on the ground working towards reinstating supply as a matter of urgency.

LEISURE BAY

PLEASE be informed that water supply has been closed in Leisure Bay due to repair work being done scour valve 250mm by New Heaven.

Repair job is estimated to be completed 4 hours from now.
