Port Shepstone Senior Primary grade 6 pupil, Sisanda Doyisa, has set an example for all locals as she took it upon herself to make a meaningful contribution to South Coast Hospice.
Sisanda surprised staff by donating six bags of linen and clothing to the South Coast Hospice Charity Shop on Bisset Street recently.
“On behalf of all our patients and their families, the South Coast Hospice team would like to thank Sisanda for her kindness and generosity,” said South Coast Hospice fundraiser BT King.
“Imagine the delight of the shop staff when this bright, smiling 12-year-old walked in with bags of donations. Thank you Sisanda for being an inspiration and a blessing to us all,” King added.
The funds raised from Sisanda’s donation help make sure that South Coast Hospice can be there for those in need and can continue offering compassionate palliative care to those facing life-threatening illnesses.
In 2018, through the support of the community, South Coast Hospice was able to care for 159 patient admissions into the four-bed Kingfisher House Inpatient Unit and made 15 330 visits to patients and their families.
