Saturday will see the second annual South Coast Grom Comp go down at St Mike’s at 8am.
More than 50 grommets from across South Africa will compete in this prestigious contest in Under-10, 12, 14 and 16 boys and girls divisions.
The South Coast’s best young guns will showcase their skills against some of the best groms from all over the country
Locals set for action include Kira and Maya Attfield, Chalize Coetzee, Louise Lepront, Mayah Potgieter, Jesse Powell, Jordan Boshoff, Lwando Dlezi, Llewllyn Engelbrecht, Luc Lepront, Evan Peyios, Clayton Robertse, Evan Spittal, Senzo Tibe, Tyne van Achterbergh and Landon Windvogel.
Many of the Ugu grommets have shown great promise and surfed at the Grommet Games in Port Elizabeth earlier this year, or competed on the national stage at different SAST events around the country and will be showcasing their skills at the South African Junior Championships in Jeffery’s Bay in October.
