PLeace Awaken NPC and San Lameer Country Club will host the second round of PLeace GOLF Africa, an international celebrity golf tournament, from 18-21 January.
Playing amongst others will be Aidan Quinn, Gregory Harrison, legendary golfer Mark McNulty, Maps Maponyane, Jannie de Beer, Matt Booth, Chester Williams and defending champions Pierre Strydom and Bobby Lincoln.
The interdisciplinary roundtable on Saturday evening about solution approaches to the violence in South Africa will be hosted by radio personality Sonia Booth and feature such guest speakers as Brown Lekekela, a rape councillor from Diepsloot, Ryno R. Schutte, a security expert from Johannesburg, Lt. Col. Sakkie Laurens, an ex-SAPS investigator now specialising in farm attacks and rhino poaching, Frikkie Hefer of Hope Again Recovery Center and Bantu Holomisa, a member of parliament and president of the United Democratic Movement (UDM).
The event will also present the Grid of Light, a charity network of organisations such as the Booth Trust, the Chester Williams Foundation, Heritage Protection Group, Pro-Active S.A. and Greendoor Diepsloot, a shelter and councilling center for victims of rape and domestic violence.
The VIP Media Lounge, exclusive to the media, sponsors and the celebrities, will be co-hosted by Clubface-Golf, a social media network for golfers.
The prize-giving ceremony along with a gala-show featuring such guests as Pieter Rischmuller, Catriona Andrew, Emmanuel Castis, Dewald Wasserfall, COPE leader Mosiuoa Lekota and an international audience of celebrities and dignitaries, will be held on Sunday evening. The event will open on Friday evening.
