Pretorius and McGregors clinch Creston College Golf Day


Johan Pretorius and McGregor trio Tim, Marina and Stewart won the Creston College Golf Day at Port Shepstone Country Club on Saturday.

They comfortably won the fourball alliance scramble drive on 117 points, with Jaco and Juan Buitendag, Bevis Fairbrother and Roy Matkovich second on 111 points and Peter Thompson, Beryl Olden, Fanie Kuhn and Louis Klopper third on 108 points.

Earlier in the week, Phil Myburgh won the individual stableford on 40 points on Wednesday.

Gerald Koch counted out Tony Milligan and Paul Bunge for second place on 39 points.

Thursday’s WGSA Medal competition saw Wendy Timmer first through the field on 67 nett.

In second place was Jane Lind on 72 nett with Monica Hulley third on 74 nett.

Anne Baldrey won the Silver Division on 71 nett while Di Nadauld won the Bronze Division on 66 nett.

Friday’s Bates Business Day fourball alliance was won by Team Reebok – Denis Reebok, Don Osborn, Greg Hornby and Derrick Egerton – on 97 points.

Charles and Jenny Hulley, Jimmy Parsons and Gavin van Wyk were two points back in second place with the Pro Shop team of Sean Nathanson, Tony Fairbairn, John Beekman and Jess Verster third on 94 points.
