The Margate Saints punched above their weight at the KwaZulu-Natal Nipper Championships.
Addington Beach played host to the provincial tournament at the weekend, where the Margate Saints nippers finished sixth out of nine clubs despite having considerably less competitors than the bigger club.
The boys Under-9/Under-10 team of Joshua Brymer, Reece Murray, Kyle Klein and Matthew Greying bagged bronze in the beach baton relay, while there were also a number of medal-winning individual performances.
Tayla van Rooyen doubled up, winning gold in the long run and bronze in the beach sprint.
Jordan Newb clinched silver in the flag event, Caitlyn Schlehmeyer achieved silver in the long run event, Sbonelo Ncane won bronze in the flag event and Dillon Brymer won bronze in the long run event.
Several other Margate Saints competitors advanced to finals and claimed top 10 places.
