South Coast Hospice’s next fund-raising pool competition will be held at Van’s Diner in Margate on Saturday from 11am, followed by the main Fallen Friends pool competition at Buccaneers Pub on 30 May.
All funds raised at these pool competitions go towards care for South Coast Hospice cancer patients.
The Fallen Friends team have been raising funds for South Coast Hospice for the past eight years. Two main sponsors, Attie and Marieta Horn from The Cove and Eben and Lia van Eeden from Buccaneers, got together and sponsored T-shirts for the committee of Fallen Friends.
“We are grateful and very proud to be able to wear these T-shirts with pride at our meetings and fund-raising events,” said BT King, South Coast Hospice’s fund-raising co-ordinator.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Richard Phillips, Vaughn Geldenhuys, the late Mick Horton, John Crammond, Brian French and Neville Tutton who started the Fallen Friends fundraiser in memory of Jeff Harmon and Joe Clancy eight years ago.
“We salute them for a job well done, we salute our sponsors for their ongoing support and for having a heart for patients on their journeys of ill health and we thank our community for their ongoing support,” added King.
In addition to the pool competition on Saturday, there will be fun activities for kids, live music and delicious wors rolls and rib burgers for sale.
