STATEMENT BY UMDONI MUNICIPALITY:

The municipality has confirmed another positive case at the Finance Department, bringing the number of reported cases to two.

The affected employees are currently on self isolation. The municipality has already taken necessary measures for the employees who were direct contacts or have visited the finance department in the past week and have undergone stringent testing protocols.

Residents are therefore requested to take heed that the finance department is currently operating with very minimal staff and therefore members of the community are urged to utilise online services for payments. In the interim, rates queries can be emailed to kerushag@umdoni.gov.za

The municipality will again be conducting the necessary disinfection and decontamination of the Scottburgh Offices to combat the spread of the virus.

The municipality will implement all necessary safety measures to safeguard the wellbeing of our workers while simultaneously ensuring that municipal operations are not being adversely compromised.

We request residents to bear with us for any inconvenience that might occur while the municipality is in the process of implementing measures aimed at combating the spread of this pandemic in the workplace.
