Chairman’s Chirp:

”I would like to take this opportunity to thank my awesome committee for their help and support so far this year. Thanks to Hendriette for facilitating this newsletter in order for us to stay in touch with you, our members.

“Thanks to Mary for ensuring we have a clean and tidy club to attend  every single week. Thanks to Isak for mentoring our runners and helping them achieve their goals. Thanks to Stephanie for assisting us with the subs and licences this year. Along with Hendriette’s assistance, this has enabled me to do a couple of time-trials with my children.

“Thank you to all of you who have offered your time and assistance in organising the Sardine Runs this year.

“To all of you who have qualified for Comrades already, congratulations – and to those of you who still have to qualify (myself included), all the best, but if you do not succeed this year, remember there is always next year!

“In parting, here is a great quote from Stephen R. Covey which would be worth taking cognisance of – ‘Our ultimate freedom is the right and power to decide how anybody or anything outside ourselves will affect us.”’
