Audi South Africa reports a successful first six months of 2014 and despite challenging market conditions sold 9684 units from January to June.

The automaker reports a year-to-date premium market share of 23.4%, an increase of 1% compared to the same period in 2013, and a record for the company in SA.

A total of 1526 vehicles were delivered in June 2014, and despite tough market conditions, Audi reports it’s on its “way to achieving yet another record year”.

Its sales were bolstered by the launch of its A3 sedan and cabriolet. The A4 remains the automaker’s best-selling vehicle in SA with 2811 units delivered to customers since January 2014.

Head of Audi SA, Ryan Searle, said: “The first six months of the year have yielded good results for the brand which Audi plans to continue for the remainder of 2014. Audi South Africa and our partners in the Audi Dealer network remain committed to maintaining the positive momentum despite challenging market conditions.

“We plan to further strengthen our position in the local premium market taking into account that Audi South Africa is the 14th biggest Audi market in the world as at the end of June 2014. We aim to end the year with a premium market share that exceeds last year’s record share.”

Audi reports its best first half-year sales result yet with 869 350 units sold and a year-on-year sales growth of 11.4% compared to the same period in 2013. In June 2014, the automaker delivered 155 450 vehicles globally, a 10.8% increase compared to the same month in 2013.
