Blue Ocean Aquatics swimmers rake in medals at KZN Level Two Champs

Eleven Blue Ocean Aquatics (BOA) swimmers participated in the recent Level Two Provincial Championships held in Durban.

The local club came home with eight gold medals, eight silver medals and five bronze medals as well as personal best times.

Elisabeth Ballack won a gold medal in the 50m backstroke, Hannah Scott won a gold medal in the 200m freestyle while Hannah Parry won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle and a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle.

Leah Scott won a gold medal and three silver medals in her respective events. Tharien Venter won gold in the 200m freestyle and two bronze medals in the 200m breaststroke and 200m backstroke.

James Fisher won three gold medals in the breaststroke events, Joshua Notrem won a gold medal in the 100m fly and bronze in the 50m fly, Amber Vorster won three silver medals and bronze in the 200m individual medley while Christopher Ballack won silver in the 50m breaststroke.

“Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in this event and who swam personal best times – all the hard work pays off,” said BOA coach Mandy Koegelenberg.

“All the best to all the swimmers participating in the SA Open Water, Level Three Regional, Level Two Regional and SA National Junior Championships. May you swim fast, make new friends and have fun,” she added.
