Car theft syndicate busted in Toti, alarming equipment confiscated

STATEMEN BY ET RAPID RESPONSE:

In the early hours of Wednesday the 23rd of October 2019, 4 car thieves’ luck ran out in Amanzimtoti.

Four suspects were apprehended in Doonside after clever policing by CCPO, private security (ET/Blue/Pvt ccpo volunteers) and Amanzimtoti SAPS Crime Prevention Unit.

A vehicle, which was used in the attempted theft of a Ford Ranger in Umhlanga, was circulated by the ccpo.

Various members went out early on Wednesday morning patrolling, on the hunt for these thieves.

The vehicle was spotted in Warner Beach, members followed the vehicle into Doonside where the vehicle stopped at the garage.

Amanzimtoti Crime Prevention then searched the vehicle, where very sophisticated car stealing equipment were found in their possession.

All four suspects were detained at Amanzimtoti SAPS for further processing.
