The Port Shepstone ladies hockey teams finished the season on a winning note as they scored a deserved 2-0 victory over Munies/Collegians 4 on Saturday.
Sheppie dominated play for the first 15 minutes but had to wait until five minutes before the break for their opening goal, with Elisa Rinaldi beating the goalkeeper.
Munies tried to relieve the pressure by using river balls and won a free hit, but with Sheppie pressing, they were ineffective.
Sheppie were noticeably fired up going back onto the park after half-time and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities that kept the goalkeeper busy.
The ball eventually found the back of the net from an excellent shot by Rinaldi, which wrapped up the win.
The club’s end-of-year dinner will be held at Craig and Lana Rhodes’ home in Shelly Beach this Saturday at 6.30pm.
