The Port Shepstone ladies hockey team took on First Division league leaders Kearsney 2 on Saturday.

The first half saw Sheppie playing fantastic hockey, to the point that Kearsney’s coach received a warning from the umpire for his behaviour.

Nothing separated the sides and at half-time they were deadlocked at 0-0.

The second half saw the first goal being scored by Kearney 2 within five minutes, and the next goal followed shortly thereafter.

Despite good defending, Sheppie leaked more goals and went down 5-0.

Player of the Match honours went to Marike Durrheim and Marozaan Pretorius.

The final game of the ladies season will be played on Saturday, while the men’s league was completed three weeks ago.

The club’s prize-giving and dinner will be held on Saturday 27 September.
