Coronavirus: Umdoni schools instil ‘much-needed confidence’

Umdoni Municipal area was visited by the members of the KZN Legislature for the Schools Functionality Programme on Wednesday aimed at monitoring the state of readiness of schools for the phased in return of pupils amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Visited schools were Shonkweni Primary School, Zithokozise High School and Kwahluzingqodo Secondary School.

These schools instilled much-needed confidence and were applauded for their state of readiness which included cleanliness of the schools, visibility CCGs that are assisting with screening and temperature tests and provision of water services by Ugu District Municipality amongst other things.

Members of the Legislature led by Hon. CQ Madlopha visited the schools together with local leadership which included Umdoni Speaker, Cllr Nombuso MaSandanezwe Mpanza, Ugu Speaker, Cllr NH Gumede and Ugu Executive Committee Member, Cllr Nomfundo Dlamini.
