The other mixed doubles match between Darral and Sally Pillay and Dan Dimitiru and Cathy Kirton will be played after the singles and doubles matches on Saturday.

It was a perfect day for tennis at Umtentweni Tennis Club, with the next round of championship matches being played.

In the men’s singles main draw, Tisch Roos, Raj Naganna, André Mey and Darral Pillay are through to the semi-finals, which will be played this Saturday.

In the men’s singles back draw, Wayne Hartogh meets Rob Browne and Martin Pratt will play the winner of the outstanding match between Naren Sunker and Pieter Burger.

Men’s doubles matches for Saturday are Dan Dimitiru and Ian Ackerman versus Wayne Hartogh and Mark Hannaway whilst Rob Browne and Tisch Roos face Raj Naganna and André Mey.

The last women’s doubles match will have been played earlier in the week and the mixed doubles match between Tisch Roos and Liesl Smith against Rob and Jen Browne will be played this afternoon at 15:00.

It was great to have Clive and Carine Botha gracing our courts again for social tennis. Sadly, they have now returned to Parys so we shall not see them for a while.

The club welcomes a new junior member, Ethan Holden-Smith, and we wish him and his family many happy hours on the courts.

Members wish Wendy Smith a very happy birthday on the 4th and lots of enjoyable tennis in the year ahead.

Saturday duty: July 3 – Rob Browne; July 10 – Morgan Reddy.
