Duncalf reigns in the wind at Margate Country Club

Keith Duncalf won the men’s individual stableford in windy conditions at Margate Country Club on Saturday.

The club stalwart won on 37 points with Wonder Nxumalo counting out George Bowie for second place on 35 points.

The ladies competition was abandoned due to the gusting wind.

As always, there were a number of competitions throughout the week.

Tuesday’s ladies threeball alliance was won by Sandi Johnston, Evelyn Burls and Janet Dowling on 85 points, five clear of runners-up Una McLachlan, Chiapinni Boshoff and Sandi Johnston (pivot).

Wednesday’s wobblers threeball alliance (1,2,3, to count in sequence) went the way of Thys Bothma, Frank Merrill and Toekie Janeke on 91 points.

Alex Botha, Wayne Minnaar and Hans Beilhartz were second on 88 points and Freddie Boshoff, Hans Dallinger and Alan Davies were third on 86 points.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Dolf Willemse, Dave Morrison and Dave Boyd on 66 points.

Thursday’s individual bonus bogey was won on a count out, Fanie Terblanche besting Mike Lee on plus 8.

Dereck Hirson was third on plus 7, while the nearest to pin 16th prize sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages was won by Dennis Rehbock.
