eHowzit has now been in existence for nearly eight years and has become part of the daily lives of thousands of South Coasters, as well as hundreds of other people elsewhere in South Africa and even abroad who have an interest in the South Coast.

It has been widely praised as one of the best news aggregators of its kind, if not the best, in South Africa. With its unique content formula by aggregating local, regional, national and international news with popular content, over the years it has accumulated nearly 10-million views.

With the ever-changing media and information landscape, as has happened with many other products in the information field, circumstances have changed and as other media have done, we will have to adapt and change to remain relevant in line with technology.

Besides other factors, Covid-19 had a major effect on our ability to maintain our current format, and eHowzit management members are, at the moment, working on some exciting changes to the format to make it more modern, relevant, and functional while retaining its core informational value with an emphasis on a more product-centric model.

The planning, development, and implementation of the new platforms and format will be done during the ‘quiet’ December holiday period, and the plan is to introduce the revamped eHowzit by the 1st of February 2021.

From Monday 7th December we go into a “Lite” version of our current offering while we do system development and upgrades. The “Lite” version will consist of only one newsletter a day Monday to Friday with the website to continue as is, with changes made as we go along.

Feedback as well as suggestions from our readers/viewers will be sourced via an eHowzit survey in due course.  We are extremely excited with the proposed changes and addition of new technology that will benefit the viewer and advertisers alike as we all adopt a digital-first approach to our daily lives.

There will be some staff changes in our team to accommodate the new technology and strategies we have in place to grow our value proposition. eHowzit would like to thank Johan Pretorius and Quintin van Jaarsveld for their valued commitment to eHowzit who have made eHowzit a true success. As Johan moves into retirement and Quintin onto new challenges. We wish them well.

The management of eHowzit wants to thank our viewers and advertisers for their loyal support since 2013. Without you, we could not have become one of the best-rated news aggregators in South Africa. We trust you will be thrilled with the new product developments and continue to support us into 2021 and beyond.

Please be on the lookout for some interesting updates over this exciting period of development for eHowzit.
