STATEMENT BY PORT SHEPSTONE SAPS:
On Tuesday at 11:30 Protection Services officer Devlyn Abbott arrested a most wanted man who had been sought by police for various cases. Officer Abbott received information that the wanted man was boarding a taxi and that the taxi had left for Hibberdene. Abbott rushed and pulled off the taxi at Wood Grange and found the man, fitting the description, in the taxi. He had a gas pistol with him. Andile Gambushe 25, was arrested and will appear in court for the following cases soon:
Escaping from lawful custody in Ezinqoleni on 16 September 2013
Theft of a fire-arm in Paddock where he allegedly stole a handgun from the owner in June – September 2013
Possession of an unlicensed fire-arm on 2013-09-05 at Gamalakhe
Business robbery on 2013-09-03 at Gamalakhe where he robbed a supermarket (money in till) together with another suspect.
