An exciting and talented Ugu Surfriders team will take on the country’s best up-and-coming wave-riders at the Sea Harvest South African Junior Championships this week.
This year’s national showpiece will be held at Lower Point, Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape, where the South Coast’s rising surfing stars will look to continue to climb up the rankings.
Ugu last year finished sixth out of nine teams, their best result in three years, and will seek more improvement as well as individual titles.
With Port Shepstone legend Heather Clark staying on as coach, the team’s tipped to make an impact on the national stage.
The contest will get underway on Tuesday and run through to Sunday when the national champions will be crowned.
