Last weekend’s Kingfisher Bowling Association (KBA) Mixed Pairs saw what was truly one of the best finals seen for a long time with outstanding bowls played on both sides.

Riverside’s Ron Weddell, playing as reserve for Shane Nienber, and Maureen Muller went up against Wayne and Gail van Nikkelen Kuyper from Hibberdene.

Weddell and Muller were the eventual winners but well deserved congratulations to all four players.

In joint third were KBA president Barbara Brook and Pat McGlynn from Margate and Tony Waters and Julie Walker from Southbroom.

Brook said, “Thanks to the clubs who hosted the round robins and special thanks to The Bell for their hospitality over all three days. Special thanks to the enthusiastic supporters that make such a difference.

“The executive wishes all our inter-district squads the very best of luck and good bowls for the tournament next week.

“The open women are playing in Oudtshoorn and the men in George. The seniors are playing in Port Natal and the B’s in Johannesburg so please all travel safely.”
