Flip Fourie (pictured) recorded an awesome victory over Bobby Govender in the KwaZulu-Natal South Snooker League at Margate Country Club last week, beating him four frames to nil to prove to his younger opposition that experience in the game of snooker is of utmost importance.

Fourie, who did not have much luck in his initial matches, sinking the cue ball too many times, said that he now has better cue ball control and is enjoying his game. The improvement in his game has pushed him up the rankings to fifth position.

With the last league games being played this week, players are tense as they try to make sure they better their rankings and stay in the top eight.

The Doubles Knockout draw was done last Friday and is as follows; JJ Kruger and Mpex Mthokozisi vs Selvin Moodley and Flip Fourie, Ivan Naidoo and Bobby Govender vs Collin Chetty and Yega Katharian, Brendon Ponnan and Kuben Govender vs Basil King and Shawn Chetty and Siyanda Nkonyeni and Eddie Redlinghuys vs Damien and Damon Schloms.

Watch these top teams take each other on at Margate Country Club from 24-30 November. The semi-finals will be played on Friday, 29 November at 18h30 and the finals on Saturday, 30 November at 15h00. For more Snooker information, contact Selvin Moodley on 083 272 1757.
