STATEMENT BY UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY:

Northern system: high areas of Hibberdene and Woodgrandge no water still pending restoration; job allocated to standby to continue checking all line valves. Pumula no water complaint also logged. Melville affected by major burst in Acacia and damages on the private adjoining properties.

Southern system:

Shelly beach; reservoir is now building up after repairs of damaged air valve in izotsha robots.

Gamalakhe: no water on 600 south and Gamalakhe offtake, investigation still on going as more valves suspected to be closed, break at near pure venom was confirmed to be on the 300mm. Water trucks sent to Gamalakhe and areas still outstanding. 600 line being prioritised to restored supply to Gamalakhe and Seaslopes reservoirs as soon as possible.

Bomela pump station vandalised (video to follow shortly)power cables removed; work in progress to reinstate.

Uvongo; reservoir is building up after 375 feed was restored upon opening bulk main valves yesterday.

Seaslopes reservoir empty; bulk water supply opened last night and discovered a damaged section on the incoming main; pipeline and fittings are being sourced. There is no feed to Kaisers and Ramsgate; Ramsgate North and South are dry, Gayridge, Margate Extension 3 affected. Water Tankers scheduled for tomorrow to Nosita.

Margate CBD supply reservoirs; 2A reservoir above 40% climbing, 9A slowly dropping affecting Margate CBD and Manaba.

Umthavuna system:

Leisure bay and Palm Beach have enough bulk storage and supply to be prioritized for Port Edward and Grassmere.

Florida pump station has been vandalised, pumps and motor disconnected; M&E team has worked to reinstate.

System interference still impact speedily water restoration.
