Kingfisher Bowling Association’s 2-bowl trips winners are Kieron Dacey, Sharolyn Dacey and Steve O’Moore from The Bell.

After a lengthy lay off from the bowling greens due to Covid-19 the KBA hosted the semi-finals and finals of two competitions at Riverside Sports Club last weekend.
The 2-Bowl trips was a fiercely contested affair between Sharolyn Dacey and her team from the Bell against Maureen Muller and her Team from Riverside, with the game being decided on the final end.

Winners were Sharolyn Dacey, Kieron Dacey and Steve O’Moore (The Bell)
Runners-up were Maureen Muller, Dora Vosloo and Sandy van Niekerk (Riverside)
In joint third were Bez Bezuidenhout, Bruce Hoyer and Hennie van Jaarsvelt (Hibberdene) and Ken Tonge, Yvonne Bausek and Margaret Duffield (Margate).
The novice singles was also highly competitive, right from the start.
Eventual winners were Glenn Hatfield (Southbroom), from Rob Jackson (Margate) and Brigitte Cary-Smith (Southbroom) from Pam Nothard (Riverside).
Joint third were Neil Patterson (Hibberdene) and Tim Woolley (Riverside) as well as Rentia Williamson (The Bell) and Anthea Bratby (Riverside).

Glenn Hatfield and Brigitte Cary-Smith were winners in the Kingfisher Bowling Association’s novices’ singles men’s and ladies’ competitions played over two weekends last month.
Glenn was runner-up last year to Brigitte’s husband Neale Cary-Smith, when Brigitte made the semi-finals at her first attempt.
Both triumphed this year after playing preliminary rounds at Banners Rest then the finals at Riverside Bowling Club.

Meanwhile, the Wolf Security Open Trips played recently was won by Ralph Burls, Carl Volker and Rosie Bloom.
Runners-up were Margi Purkiss, Mike Lyall and Chris Faber.
First session to Brian Douwthwaite, Nora Hill and Declan Sparks.
Second session to Cleve Walker, Julie Walker and Tony Waters.

The Dr Govender sponsored nominated mixed trips was won by Albert Munnik and Louise Snyman (broken rink).
Runners-up were Bez Bezuidenhout, Moira Sutherland and Tillie Kirkland.
Session went to Artur Lopes, Miriam Seager and Andrew Maree.
The club also hosted a bowls golf day at the club last Saturday. It was great fun and with a very difficult course full of obstacles.
All the players were tested but enjoyed a lovely day with 18 sponsored prizes. The generous sponsors were thanked.
The ladies and men were in separate competitions and a handicap was also allocated to each player.
The top three of each comp were Alida Munnik, Moira Sutherland and Elize Duvenhage and Eddie Milne, Jim Sutherland and Alain Lambert.

Sharolyn Dacey, Keiron Dacey and Steve O’Moore won the KBA 2-bowl trips.
Rentia Williamson placed third in the KBA Novice Singles.
Winners of the Food Lover’s Market 2-4-2 were Tony Aveyard and Rosemary Ludwig.
Runners-up were Peet and Susan van Rooyen. Session to Hew Hodgson and Mada Lindeque
Winners of the Harbourview Superspar trips were Charmaine Vermeulen, Jimmy Holtshausen, and Louw Vermeulen.
Runners-up were Renzo van Niekerk, Tony Aveyard and Phil Viljoen.

Winners of the Food Lover’s Market open pairs were Gerry Davies and Colin Wright, from Derek and Georgie McKechnie.
Session to Franci Philpott and Mervin Barrett. 50/50 – Ernie Southward. Covid Crusher – Georgie McKechnie.
Competitions: December 4 – ReMax Men’s 2-4-2 at 2pm; December 5-6 – KBA Masters at 9am.
