Leon Reeders and Ken Morris were the standout golfers at Port Shepstone Country Club last week.

The duo won Wednesday’s betterball stableford and formed part of the foursome who won Friday’s Abingdon Kwik Spar Business Day competition.

They were made to work for both wins, though, the first coming by way of a count out after they and the pairing of Kevin Loring and Charles Hulley finished on 48 points.

Loring then joined the duo along with Charles Mostert and won the Business Day competition (two scores to count with mystery holes on the 5th and 16th) on 102 points (92 + 10).

David, John, George and Delfi were the runners-up on 99 points (92 + 7) after beating Mike Geiger, Mot Moleele, Edwin Steyn and Patrick Mavundla on a count out.

The week’s competitive golf concluded on Saturday when Gavin van Wyk beat Abel Yeeranna on a count out to win the Members in Christ Church Golf Day on 42 points.

Phil Myburgh was third on 41 points and Hans Stols fourth on 40 points (oco).

Off the fairways, the club held an open mic night and full moon bonfire on Friday evening, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Upcoming events:

Wednesday 18 June: Betterball medal (R130 including competition fee – visitors welcome)

Saturday 21 June: Betterball bonus bogey
