STATEMENT BY MARGATE COUNTRY CLUB:
Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach Margate Challenge postponed in accordance with Disaster Management Act
On Sunday, 15 March 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation regarding COVID-19, announcing that a National State of Disaster has been implemented.
As a way to minimise the spread of the disease, all gatherings of more than 100 people have been cancelled with immediate effect.
In accordance with the Disaster Management Act, the organisers of the Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach Margate Challenge have announced that the event, scheduled to take place at Margate Country Club 27 and 28 March, has been postponed.
It is unfortunate that this highly-anticipated event has to be postponed, but, in light of the global pandemic, it is undoubtedly the right decision.
We will advise on new dates, once we know more.
Thank you for your understanding.
