Heather Clark and company continued their Christmas morning surf tradition at St Michael’s on Monday.
The Port Shepstone surfing icon and her father began the tradition of celebrating birthdays and special occasions with a surf session early on in her unrivalled career, regardless of the conditions.
Clark and her fiancé Menize Hattingh have in recent years grown the tradition by issuing an open invitation to other wave riders to join “in the stoke.”
Several surfers donning Christmas hats took to the water with “Fergie”, carving out Christmas memories with the most decorated female surfer in South African history.
“Our traditional 5am Christmas surf is getting bigger every passing year,” said Clark.
“What an awesome way to start such a special day. Thanks to everyone who came down.
“Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!”
