Warner Beach was the venue for the second Ugu Surfriders trial of the year on Sunday.

The South Coast’s top surfers were met with challenging 3-5 foot surf in which they pushed for regional selection.

There were some noticeable improvements in all the divisions, especially the junior girls, who raised the bar in the tough conditions.

Jesse Powell prevailed in the Under-13 girls division, with Nathan Spalding securing the boys division spoils, while Chalize Coetzee and Skye Russel won the Under-15 divisions.

Other division winners included Heather Clark, Gary van Wieringen and Bryce Burness.

Details for the next trial are yet to be confirmed.
