After a lengthy lay-off from the bowling greens due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Kingfisher Bowling Association this past weekend held the semi-finals and finals of two competitions, which were hosted at Riverside Sports Club.
The 2 Bowls Trips was a fiercely contested affair between Sharolyn Dacey and her team from the Bell against Maureen Muller and her team from Riverside, with the game being decided on the final end.
Winners: Sharolyn Dacey, Kieron Dacey and Steve O’Moore (Bell)
Runners-up: Maureen Muller, Dora Vosloo and Sandy van Niekerk (Riverside)
Joint-third: Bez Bezuidenhout, Bruce Hoyer and Hennie van Jaarsvelt (Hibberdene) and Ken Tonge, Yvonne Bausek and Margaret Duffield (Margate)
The Novice Singles was also a highly competitive competition right from the start, with eventual winners being:
Winner: Glen Hatfield (Southbroom)
Runner-up: Rob Jackson (Margate)
Joint-third: Neil Patterson (Hibberdene) and Tim Woolley (Riverside)
Winner: Brigitta Cary-Smith (Southbroom)
Runner-up: Pam Nothard (Riverside)
Joint-third: Rentia Williamson (Bell) and Anthea Bratby (Riverside).
