It was the clash of the captains as the ladies captain and vice-captain skippered opposing teams at Margate Country Club last week.
The ladies captain’s team prevailed on the day with Margaret Ford topping the individual results on 39 points.
Rina Rito (38) and Anita Scheepers (36) were second and third respectively.
Wednesday’s wobblers threeball alliance (two to count, multiply on par 3s) was won by Konnie Konrad, Brian Jeffreys and Ken Norval on 91 points.
Alan Davies, Roy Knight and Rod O’Farrell counted out Frank Merrill, Otto Mutschler and Nico van Vuuren for second place on 88 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Rob McGill, Keith Duncalf and Thys Bothma on 67 points.
Thursday’s betterball stableford sponsored by Margate Pro Shop was won decisively by Dave Jenkinson and Matt Lurie on 48 points.
John Crewe and Gary Smith were three points back in second place, followed by Kenny Wienand and Piet Ludick, who won a count out for third place on 44 points.
Chris Nel won the nearest to pin prize on the 4th sponsored by Margate Pro Shop, while Johan Stoltz won the nearest to pin prize on the 16th sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages.
Saturday’s men’s individual bonus bogey went the way of Brian Joliffe on plus 6.
In second place was Graham Scowby on plus four, with Jan van Eeden finishing third on plus 3 following a count out.
Margaret Ford, Lesley Erasmus and Anita Scheepers wrapped up the week by winning the ladies threeball alliance on 83 points.
