Three female runners celebrated milestones during Saturday’s Uvongo parkrun.

Niloshinee Pather made history as she became the first woman to complete 250 parkruns.

It was also a special day for Cecily Loots, who brought up a century of parkruns, and for Nomfezeko Mhatu, who ran her 50th parkrun.

The Uvongo parkrun is a fun, free event every Saturday at 8am organised by volunteers for the benefit of all athletes.

The 5km route starts just off the St Michael’s beach parking lot and leads onto Saints Walk path, continuing adjacent to Orange Rocks Road on grass, past Orange Rocks through the coastal reserve and onto the grass verge between Stafford Avenue and the sea.

From there, it’s onto brick paving leading down and onto Uvongo beach, turning on sand under the cliffs at the gorge and returning the same way, and then 300m on St Michael’s beach up to and ending on the grass in front of C-Bali Restaurant.
