It was a great start to the weekend for a green mamba who found a new home in the wild on Friday.

James Wittstock, Reptile Curator, and Martin Rodrigues (pictured), Centre Manager of Crocworld Conservation Centre on the South Coast, released the 1.5-metre snake into a suitable habitat, having safely removed it from just outside Scottburgh a few days ago.

Crocworld Conservation Centre is home to a number of snake species, as well as a variety of other bird and wildlife. The centre hosts a series of informative nature talks from February to November, daily crocodile feedings at 11am and 3pm, and offers a free service of identifying and removing snakes for the communities of Scottburgh, Umkomaas, Pennington and Park Rynie.
