Full restoration will take three to four days to complete.

A major break in the main pump line from Weza to Khwezi is the reason most of Harding and sections of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality have been without water since last night (Wednesday 9th).

As a result, the entire system, including Khwezi, Machi and Elim, has been affected.

Ugu spokesman France Zama said teams on site had successfully repaired the pipe.

However, it will take three to four days before the system is fully restored.

Affected areas are Umuziwabantu wards 4, 6, 8, 10 and Ray Nkonyeni wards 35 and 36.

“Please be advised that water tanker services are in place to attend areas affected,” said Mr Zama.

Ugu has requested councillors in the affected areas to communicate with Khulekani Khambule in order to ensure no area is left unattended.

The municipality has pleaded with all affected parties to remain patient and calm during this period.
