Margate Bowling Club was treated to a bowls spectacle of a different kind with the Kingfisher Bowling Association hosting the Under-25 Interprovincial tournament.
The four-day tournament, which concluded on Friday, saw 16 men’s and women’s teams from across South Africa compete for prestigious national medals.
KBA president Lynne Bamber told eHowz!t: “The tournament was a great success, and the standard of bowls was exceptional.
“One of the men’s teams had five burnt ends on Thursday and topped it on Friday morning with six. The youngsters are very exciting to watch indeed.”
Boland were a cut above the rest as they won both the men’s and ladies competitions.
Port Natal won silver in the men’s competition while Ekurhuleni were the runners-up in the ladies competition.
Boland’s Anneke Snyman was named the Player of the Tournament and was presented with a medal by Stuart Milligan from tournament sponsor Warwick Wealth.
Lencel and Bev were there to capture the action on film and talk to the triumphant Boland managers.
