Maureen Ogilvie enjoyed a memorable week of golf at Margate Country Club last week.

She and her pivot Evelyn Burls kicked off the week by winning Tuesday’s ladies betterball stableford on 44 points (Sandi Johnston and Joan Minnaar were second on 43 points).

She went on to win the ladies KZN LGU Medal silver division on 75 nett on Saturday (Beryl Williamson won the bronze division on 61 nett) before she, Wayne Minnaar, Joan Minnaar and Graeme Massam won the open mixed alliance sponsored by Shelly SuperSpar on Sunday after they counted out Doug Johnston, Sandi Johnston, Connie McArthur and Hans van der Walt on 88 points.

Wednesday’s wobblers threeball alliance (two to count, three on par 5s) was won by Dave Parsons, Tokie Janeke and Thys Bothma on 87 points.

Andy Buchan, Hans Bielhartz and Dieter Jucker were second on 89 points after they counted out David James, Alan Davies and Cyril Greensmith.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Frank Merrill, Frank Stephens and Tony Peace on 77 points.

Charlie Hartman counted out Mike Lee to win Thursday’s individual stableford sponsored by Margate Pro Shop on 39 points.

Alan Davies finished third on 38 points and won the nearest to pin prize on the 4th sponsored by Margate Pro Shop, while Robert Mavundla took home the nearest to pin prize on the 16th sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages.

Saturday saw the Men’s Monthly Medal sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages being played.

Sbu Ntozakhe won the A division on 64 nett over Elvis Khawula (69), Wonder Nxumalo won the B division on 66 nett over Charlie Hartman (68) and Dave Morrison won the C division on a count out over Robbie Myburgh (73).

The nearest to pin prizes sponsored by Margate Pro Shop went to Brian Jeffreys on the 4th and Okkie Wannenburg on the 11th.
