Ronnie Mtshaka and Mot Molleeli were in a class of their own in the men’s combined stableford at Margate Country Club on Saturday.
The duo won on 77 points, crushing their nearest rivals by seven points.
Such was their dominance that the focus shifted to the tight battle for second place.
The pairings of Alan Davies and Keith Duncalf and Andrew Curlewis and Flip Fourie went tit for tat and in the end it was the ‘Double Ds’ Davies and Duncalf who secured the runners-up spot on a count out.
Thursday’s individual stableford sponsored by Margate Pro Shop was won by Johan Neethling on 44 points.
Mike Bond was second on 41 points, Dave Lippinow third on 40 points and Mike Lee fourth on 38 points.
Louw van Niekerk won the nearest to pin prize on the 16th sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages.
Wednesday’s wobblers threeball alliance (two to count) went the way of Tony Peace, Piet Pretorius and Cyril Greensmith on 85 points.
One point back was runners-up Jim Finn, Dave Morrison and Dave Parsons, with Konnie Konrad, Gert Bezuidenhout and Rob McGill third on 81 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Hans Beilhartz, Dieter Jucker and Eddie Pyle on 71 points.
The results of Tuesday’s ladies competition are yet to be confirmed.
