On 17 February 2019, Hawks members from Port Shepstone Serious Organised Crime unit received information about a suspect who was in possession of explosives in Murchison area, Port Shepstone.
Members critically analysed the information and it turned out that it was the same suspect, Mteshana that was sentenced to five years imprisonment for possession of explosives in 2013.
An operation was conducted and members proceeded to the said house. During the search members found explosives, detonators, live rounds of ammunition and drugs.
Mteshana was immediately placed under arrest and charged with possession of explosives.
